Ages

Silverwoods Forest School is a provision for young people aged 18 months to 11 years of age and is not a childcare provider.

Silverwoods Forest School holds Full Public Liability Insurance, all of our holiday camps are always run by a qualified Forest School Practitioner Level 3 who are Outdoor and Paediatric First Aid Trained, DBS Checked, Working Together To Safeguard Children Trained, Level 2 Award in Food Safety Trained and they are also experienced in working with children in an outdoor environment. All Staff and co-leaders are DBS checked.

Parent and Toddler sessions

Are for children aged 18 months to 5 years of age, and are charged at £16.50, we offer a sibling rate of £15. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 5 years. If you have baby siblings under the age of 18 months then they can come for free. The duration of all sessions are two hours. 

 

Birthday Parties

Are for children aged 3 – 12 years of age. There will be a non-refundable deposit of  £120 payable at the time of booking; this is to secure your Birthday Party. The full balance is to be paid no later than two weeks before your party is due to commence. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your party due to high winds or a lightening storm, then we will re arrange for you to have your party on the nearest available date, if this does not work around you and your party guests, then we will offer you a refund minus the £120 non-refundable booking deposit.

 

Holiday clubs 

Are for all children aged 8 to 11 years. All our holiday Camps are charged at £40 per day, we offer a Holiday Camp Sibling Discount rate of £38, but brothers or sisters must be booked onto the same Holiday Camp to qualify for sibling discounts. All our Camps run from 9am until 3pm

 

Booking 

Silverwoods Forest School is open to all young people from all ethnic, cultural, religious and social groups. Places are and are all allocated on a booking service until maximum numbers have been reached. Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. If sessions become fully booked, we will hold you on a waiting list or offer you a space on another session with availability. If the number of children on our waiting list warrants we will start additional sessions to keep the waiting times down to a minimum. Silverwoods do not offer ‘drop in drop out’ sessions. You can only purchase sessions on a whole term basis, all though we also offer a minimum booking of six sessions, these sessions are to be taken at the start of each term, and are to be taken back to back; we do not run ad hoc sessions.

Your child will benefit from the enchantment of Silverwoods Forest School over a period, which is why we only take bookings on a whole term basis, or minimum of six sessions. Silverwoods will when possible follow the local term times whilst running its session, but will not always.

Taster Sessions

If you fancy coming along to try out one of our Forest School classes before committing to a full term, then why not sign up to one of our taster sessions. Please click on one our "BOOK NOW" button on our website for all your enquiries. All of our two-hour taster sessions cost £16.50 per child. Please be aware that you are only allowed to book one taster session per child for one of our following sessions, Toddler and Parent and Toddler. Please keep an eye out on our website for upcoming Taster Sessions. 

 

Payments 

All booking forms and payments must be received before confirmation of your Forest School dates are allocated. If we have not received your payment, or booking forms within 72 hours, we reserve the right to cancel your provisional booking and offer your space to a child on the waiting list.

Fees are to be paid per full term block; each two-hour session cost £16.50, which is multiplied by the number of weeks in the school term. Thus, a 6-week term would cost £99 and a 12-week term would cost £198

All fees must be paid in advance before your child starts their Forest School sessions. (Please be aware that you are booking for the full term, or a six-session block when signing up your child/children to Silverwoods Forest School)

Once your booking is complete, you will receive a confirmation email (please check junk folder etc.)

The cost per child for a Parent & Toddler Sessions is £16.50  (2 hour session)

The cost per sibling for a Parent & Toddler Sessions is £15 (2hour session)

 For Holiday Clubs, Adult Workshops, Birthday Parties, Family Fun In The Forest the same rule applies. If we have not received your payment, or booking forms within 72 hours, we reserve the right to cancel your provisional booking and offer your space to a child or adult on the waiting list.

Silverwoods may run sessions in half terms and summer holidays. These additional session will not be included in the standard term therefore will require additional payment for all children attending holiday clubs.

Drop off/pick up

We ask you to turn up on time as we run all our Forest school sessions to a specific time scale, please call us if you are running late. If you are late to collect your child at the end of the session, again please call us so we can make sure your child is looked after until your arrival, we will charge £10 for every half an hour until collected.

 

Refunds & cancellations 

Refunds will not be given on the very rare occasion that the weather is too dangerous for us to hold a safe Forest School session. So winds over 42mph, or Thunder & lightening storms. We will keep an eye on the weather forecasts and contact you via email or text message, by 5pm the day before. Also, keep an eye out on our Facebook page and Website.

 

If the weather begins to take a turn for the worst, in the middle of a session, we will follow our emergency evacuation procedure. We will contact you immediately about picking your child/children up. We do not offer a refund on this occasion.

 

If your child cannot attend due to illness refunds will not be offered.

For whatever reason we have to cancel a session due to adult: child ratios, or Forest School leader sickness, then you will be put onto the next available session, at no extra cost.  

 

Refunds will not be offered if your child has become to cold due to the lack of clothing or layers he/she is wearing (always dress your child in more layers, as these can be taken off if they get to hot, rather be to hot than to cold)

 

Refunds cannot be given due to non-attendance of sessions.

We have the right to refuse entry if a child does not have adequate food with them for the day, please pack more than you need as children can work up big appetites in the woods, running around all day.  No Refunds will be issued if this is the case.

 

Cancellations in writing 14 days before the start of the Forest School Term, for a full refund, after this time you will not get anything back.

 

Insurance

Silverwoods Forest School has obtained full Public Liability Insurance. Forest School sessions take place in the outdoors, which by its nature is never completely free from hazard. While all reasonable precautions are taken to minimize the risks, the client accepts that accidents and injury can occur without Silverwoods being at fault.

 

Policies 

The policies of Silverwoods Forest School are the product of careful evaluation and are regularly reviewed and updated. Policy documents are available on request to parents.

 

Clothing

Please make sure that your child is dressed accordingly to the English weather, see our kit list for more information. Please label your entire child’s clothing and personal items such as hats, gloves, jackets and water bottles. No sandals, crocs or flip-flops (health and Safety)

 

Illness

If your child has a fever or has suffered from vomiting or diarrhoea within 48 hours, please inform us that they will not be attending. We wish them a speedy recovery, and will see them at their next session.

 

Medication/Medical information

Please make sure you have completed the relevant medical consent forms, providing up to date medical information regarding your child. Make sure that your child comes to Silverwoods Forest School with their medication, so Inhalers, Epi Pens that are in date. We cannot administer any medications such as Calpol, Inhalers or Epi Pens, this includes sunscreen and insect repellent, so apply or give this to your child before arrival.

 

Food

We will include a light snack for your child to have in their 2 hour Forest School session. Please provide your child with water and pop their name on it. Hot chocolate, water and milk are provided.

 

Holiday camps 

Please provide a healthy packed lunch, containing no nuts, two water bottles and a snack. Popcorn/Toasted marshmallows will be provided during they day.

 

We have the right to refuse entry if a child does not have adequate food with them for the day, please pack more than you need as children can work up big appetites in the woods, running around all day.  No Refunds will be issued if this is the case.

Data Protection

All information provided to us during booking will comply with the General Data Protection Act 2018.

 

Family Fun in the Forest

Family days are designed for all the family, so children are to be accompanied by adults over the age of 18.

 

Lost Property

Please make sure your entire child’s property is clearly labelled with their name, this makes it easier for us to return the item to parents. If your child has left anything behind please drop us an email and we will do our best to get it back to you.

 

Mobile Phones

We do not allow children with mobile phones to bring them to Forest School. Parents with mobiles are kindly asked to make sure they do not take photos of any other child whilst at forest school, its ok to photograph your own child.

 

Behaviour

Forest School promotes positive behaviour. In a situation in which a child shows aggressive, violent, physical or abusive behaviour, the parent will be contacted and asked to collect them, no refund will be issued.

 

Weather

For health and safety we will not be permitted to run and sessions due to bad weather. Please keep an eye out on our Facebook Page for weather updates, as we may have to cancel due to High Winds or Thunder & Lightening Storms. No refunds will be offered due to bad weather.
